Senior Business Development Manager

Atomwise is a leading artificial intelligence (AI) drug discovery company in San Francisco, CA, which recently closed a $45 million Series A round. We develop and use patented AI technology to help companies and universities discover therapies that improve human health and agricultural productivity.

Atomwise is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager who can share the excitement about our technology and support our business development goals. The right person will leverage their knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to identify partnering opportunities, set goals and priorities, and negotiate partnerships.

You will

  • Identify potential partners and build a robust network of relationships in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry
  • Set goals and priorities
  • Negotiate deals and contracts
  • Educate potential partners about our technology and understand how it might be applied to their specific drug development programs
  • Present at conferences and meetings
  • Create and develop research plans with our chemistry team

Required

  • 7+ years experience in business development in pharma or biotech
  • Experience managing a team
  • Extensive experience negotiating contracts, including intellectual property provisions
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or a related field
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Extremely organized with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Energetic and focused with the ability to prioritize

Preferred

  • Experience in sell-side negotiation for pharma deals
  • Experience reviewing and editing contracts
  • Masters or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline, MBA, MD or JD
  • Knowledge of small molecule drug discovery and development
  • A network of existing relationships in pharma and biotech
