Senior Partnering Executive

Atomwise is a leading artificial intelligence (AI) drug discovery company in San Francisco, CA. We develop and use patented AI technology to help companies and universities discover therapies that improve human health and agricultural productivity.

Atomwise is looking for a Senior Partnering Executive who can share the excitement about our technology and create academic-industry collaborations. The right person will leverage their knowledge of academic research and technology transfer to identify partnering opportunities, negotiate partnerships, and build collaborations with universities for preclinical drug discovery and commercialization.

You will

  • Leverage your knowledge of academic technology transfer and licensing to identify partnering opportunities
  • Grow a robust network of relationships with academic institutions and researchers
  • Negotiate diverse types of contracts and business models
  • Build trust and strong collaborations
  • Recognize opportunities in early stage academic research and identify potential paths to commercialization
  • Educate potential partners about our technology and understand how it might be applied to their specific drug development program
  • Present at conferences and meetings
  • Create and develop research plans with our chemistry team

Required

  • 7+ years experience in academic tech transfer or in external innovation for a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
  • Experience managing a team
  • Extensive experience negotiating complex contracts, including intellectual property provisions
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or a related field
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Extremely organized with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Energetic and focused with the ability to prioritize

Preferred

  • Experience in sell-side negotiations for pharma deals or licensing assets from universities
  • Experience reviewing and editing contracts
  • Masters or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline, MBA, MD or JD
  • Knowledge of small molecule drug discovery and development
  • A network of existing relationships in pharma and biotech
